Born in the millennium, evolve for the future

MEP evolves for the future. In the past 19 years, we have introduced various new initiatives for preparing our students to be the future entrepreneurs, and leading the way into the futures. Let’s take a walk down memory lane, review these initiatives and meet our champions!

The past

A walk down memory lane

Our past initiatives

MEP is an evergreen programme because the organizing committee revamps it from time to time. Committee members with different professional backgrounds collect feedback from participants and introduce new initiatives base on market and students’ need. Here some of the highlights we have prepared for our youth.

Proposal writing (MEP I - XIX)

All participating teams were required to document their business idea according to the given rules. The proposal would then be judged according to their creativity, originality and completeness.

Booth Exhibition (MEP VII - XVII)

Around 10 finalists would be invited to the final competition and they were required to exhibit their business idea by designing a booth and presenting on the stage.

Organization visit (MEP XI - MEP XIX)

To let students have better understanding on the selected topic, all participating teams would have chances to visit organizations with the same business objectives.

Creative promotion clip (MEP XVI - XVII)

The 20 seconds creative promotion clip was an initiative first introduced in MEP XVI. Apart from having fun, students also learned to pitch their business ideas verbally.

Business pitching (MEP XVIII- XIX)

To foster pitching skill which is one of the most important qualities of entrepreneurs, all participating teams which had submitted a valid business proposal would be invited to the final presentation competition for pitching their business idea to the judging panel.

Budgeting workshop (MEP XIV - XIX)

To equip students with the knowledge required for writing the business proposal, mandatory workshops on business plan writing, financial budgeting and business pitching were provided to all participating teams.

Our champions in the past 19 years

MEP has been organized for 19 years in a row since 2000. Every year, our honourable judging panel selects winners, including the champion team, according to the criteria proposed by the organizing committee. Let’s meet some of these champion teams now!

The future

Our determination

Find your voice

We are determined to be the most popular business programme in Hong Kong. In the coming years, we will continue to enrich the programme and bring MEP to the next level of excellence. However, our belief of getting young people in the spotlight, searching and realising their potentials will never be changed. MEP will continue to be the platform which young people can express themselves and their thinking on the stage, and speak for the needs of the society.
